On Air Suite

Our software offers radio stations complete automation solutions for any kind of broadcast, ranging from fully automated to live-assist and any combination of these. The integration of a player, planner, library, carts and RDS/RDBS into one software package ensures a flexible and user-friendly environment.
On Air Suite includes dynamic RDS, plays all sound files and works with all sound cards. No more need of overpriced hardware, a normal computer and soundcard will do!

Import Modules

We have a number of import modules available to import the data from other software products. Contact us to find out whether we can import the data from the software you are currently using. If we do not currently support your software, we will look into the possibilities of creating a data importer for use with your software. Feel free to ask us for more information about this unique switching service. These are the import modules we currently offer:
Powergold, Dalet, Carmen, DBF, Airwave-nonstop, Mouse Music, Forms2000, RadioHost.

Multiple stations

Besides regular broadcasting, our software excels in the operating of multiple stations. It is possible to add an unlimited number of stations to On Air Suite, the only limitations being the hardware configuration.

Editions

On Air suite is designed to be able to work with multiple editions. Using our advanced edition system, you will be able to broadcast localised commercials, news and RDS/RDBS messages to different regions. Initially, one main radio station is created which is associated with multiple editions. The main radio station broadcasts the main playlist, while the editions only play the blocks, which differ from the main broadcast (i.e. local news and commercials). The main station broadcasts the playlist up to the start of a different block. At this point, the different editions take charge of the broadcast. Every different edition starts an 'Edition Player'. The edition players then play one deviating block each. Every edition also can broadcast its own RDS messages.

When parallel deviating blocks differ in length, the shorter blocks will be supplemented with 'fillers'. Any item in the library is suitable for use as a filler including station-ID's, short music intros or free commercials. The placing of the fillers (start/end) is user defined.

Edition players can be installed onto any computer on the same network as On Air Suite's main program, including the computer running the main program. Control of the edition players is through TCP/IP and can be done using any normal LAN or WAN. The number of audio ports on the computer only limits the number of edition players connected to a computer. In addition, it's even possible to have multiple stations with multiple editions for each station.

Playlist Generator

Playlist can be generated manually or automatically and can be changed at any time, even during broadcasts. This especially comes in handy during live-assist broadcasting. After each alteration, the player recalculates all start and end times of the items to make sure that news items and commercials still start at the correct time.
You are able to compose, store and load an unlimited amount of playlists in advance. Playlists may contain any kind of item, ranging from music to pre-recorded interviews.
You can manage a playlist by inserting commands. Commands are items that perform certain tasks automatically, for example controlling external equipment, broadcasting news every hour or import/export commercial breaks.

Player

The convenient player plays all the scheduled items automatically, semi-automatically or manually. It can be used for non-stop broadcasts and live-assists broadcasts. Commercials, news and voice tracks are easily distinguishable by different colors. The intros, outros and transitions between items can be adjusted, even during the broadcast.

Scheduling Rules

With the use of scheduling rules you can manage all the rules that define your playlist. The rules are elaborate en flexible so you can create playlists, which are adjustable to your wishes and those of your listeners.
The scheduling rules are basically used to set the rules to which the playlist has to comply. With priority checks you can define which rules have priority over others, so your playlist won’t have internal conflicts.
You can also create templates to make the scheduling of rules easier and more efficient. Templates are used to indicate at what hour of the day, which rules should be used.
The large number of features allows you to direct the playlist towards your audience and thus increase your listenership and advertising revenue.

RDS/RDBS

The standard integrated RDS/RDBS module enables RDS/RDBS broadcasts. It is possible to send a default RDS/RDBS message, or to send a separate RDS/RDBS message with each item. Using our advanced edition system, you will be able to broadcast RDS/RDBS messages to different regions simultaneously.

Carts

Carts are small players. A cart allows the DJ to start an item, to preview an item or to play a predefined list of items. Each cart can be connected to an audio output, allowing the user to have as many carts as there are audio ports.

Crossover editor

Using the integrated crossover editor, it is easy to mix all your songs to perfection. The crossover editor is also used to record voicetracks, such as news items or weather forecasts, and mix them with other items. The crossover editor has 5 predefined settings that ensure that your mix points are always perfect.

Editing: You can also use the crossover editor to edit recorded items. For example, you can remove coughs, silences etc.

Webeditor: we are currently working on the crossover webeditor, which allows DJ’s to record their voicetracks from any computer with an Internet connection. The first test have been successful and in the near future a demo version of this application will be posted on our website.

Library

The library has advanced features for the storing of information about music, performers and musicians. Items are easily found with the help of quick search fields or advanced filters. It is possible to store a great deal of information about each item in the library. It is also possible to indicate which RDS/RDBS messages should be broadcast with each item.

The Cue Point Analyzer: This is a very useful tool. With a click of the mouse, On Air Suite analyses all the items in your database and automatically sets all the cue points.

System

System is used for the configuring and maintenance of On Air Suite.

On Air Suite Add-On

Playlist Publisher

The Playlist Publisher is an On Air Suite add-on.
The Playlist Publisher automatically publishes playlists on the Internet and keeps them up to date. The Publisher is integrated with Itunes and other online stores so listeners can order the played tracks.
As with all Caliope software, the Playlist Publisher is also capable of publishing multiple station and -edition lists.
Configurations can be performed from anywhere in the world.

The Playlist Publisher can publish playlists in 3 different ways:

  1. HTML: The Playlist Publisher automatically uploads HTML pages to your website.
  2. XML: The Playlist Publisher publishes XML pages to your website.
  3. Server: The Playlist Publisher acts as a webserver. By sending an HTTP request, a web page is displayed.

The Playlist Publisher can generate 3 different views:

  1. A view displaying all items from an hour before to the present and a view displaying all items from the present until an hour from now.
  2. A view displaying all items played so far.
  3. A view displaying all scheduled items.

Every view's look and feel can easily be adapted using the incorporated Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

Request Planner
